Little peanut is kickin my butt

I don't think I have even been so sick in my life. The ER visit helped for a total of 24 hours, then I got sick all over again. This time though I was careful and took my meds to help curve the nausea. An unexpected symptom has popped up though, migraines. I have gotten two in less then a week, the first lasted 3 days, this one is lasting well into my second day. I wouldn't be surprised if I still feel it tomorrow.
The doctors at the hospital are pretty useless right now. I know there are certain meds I could take to help with the migraine pain during this pregnancy but they don't seem to want to prescribe them to me. Instead their answer is to go back to the ER, get more fluids and more IV meds...the same meds I would like just in pill form so I don't have to waist a day at the ER and get IV's stuck in my arms. Maybe I can get someone to give me something at my orientation Thursday. That is the day I get put into the OB/GYN system and get told when all my doctor appointments are. If not, I guess all I can do is hide in my room for a few days and pray I sleep most of the migraine away.
This Wednesday is 8 weeks so far, I guess I will just take it week from week and hopefully, one of these weeks, the symptoms will lessen.
Hopefully I will find out when I get my ultrasound. That is what I am looking forward to the most. If that goes well, then I am going to tell everyone my news.

Trip to the ER

So for about a week now I have been throwing up. Its morning, noon and night with no real relief. Yesterday I got some Zofran for the nausea, but apparently I waited a little too long to get it. Yesterday I got a horrible migraine that never let up. Kept me up all night and only got worse today. The nurse at the hospital thought it would be best if I went to the ER.
I was happy the doc wasn't too concerned. He lectured me about the importance of staying hydrated and trying to combat the nausea before I get to the point of no return. He hooked me up on IV fluids and gave me some injectable meds for the nausea and the migraine. The nausea went away pretty fast, but the migraine hung on until this evening. Now I am just really out of it and starting to feel nauseous again. I took my Zofran and am trying to eat crackers in hopes that it doesn't get worse.
I do not like that I got a bunch of different meds all at once today, but the doc assured me it wouldn't affect the baby.
Lets hope this next week wont be as bad. Tomorrow marks my 7th week of pregnancy.I am trying real hard to stay hydrated but its so hard when you get sick all the time.

Morning sickness in full swing

Wow, I had nausea off and on but the past few days it has been non-stop throwing up morning, noon and night. I didn't even get to sleep until 7:30 this morning.
I am never not nauseous...I either have my head in the toilet or I feel like I am two seconds away from running to the bathroom.
It seems to be worse at night, and now its 11pm and I am feeling it get stronger again. Hopefully I can pass out before it gets worse and have it not wake me up, but if its anything like last night then I can pretty much kiss getting any sleep goodbye.

Prenatal vitamins...

I was able to pick up my prenatal vitamins at the hospital today. Its a good thing too because I just finished the ones I was using the past few months yesterday. Now I don't have to pay for them.

I can tell my digestive system is starting to slow down, if you catch my drift. I woke up this morning with horrible gas pains. So far though no nausea so I am happy, I am so praying I avoid the whole morning sickness thing.

I am really interested on how things are going to be this month. I am only 5 weeks along so I am preparing myself to experience a lot of changes between now and the end of the month. Deciding on when I am going to announce my pregnancy to my FB friends. So far my immediate family knows, and my close friends. I want to post it now, but I am holding back until my first doctor's appointment.

Blood tests are back

And it was positive! But it wasn't that simple of a story...

The nurse had told me that I was probably ok getting my blood checked today instead of waiting till next week. So I go in and get my blood drawn. Two hours later I get a phone call from the lab...the nurse tells me my test is negative. I was devastated. How could this be? I told her I took like 20 tests and all of them were positive. All she said was the HPTs are not accurate and not to waist my money on them and to come back in three weeks if my period didn't show.

So I cried...a lot. I had gotten my hopes up after all. I composed myself enough to go to work. I cannot have my cell phone on so I put it on silent and check it throughout the day. Well an hour after arriving at work I check my phone to see about 15 missed calls, all from the hospital. As I am listening to the voice mails, all telling me to call them back asap the phone rings again. The nurse on the other end starts asking me to confirm I am who I am (dob, ss# etc)
After confirming I was who I was, the nurse says "I swear we are not trying to pull an April Fools joke on you, but the nurse read the wrong test results and your test was, in fact, positive". I was totally taken back by this. I was totally depressed not 2 minutes prior and now I am on cloud nine. I got to listen to about 5 minutes of intense apologizing. I mean whats done is done and I was happy they tracked me down as soon as they found the mistake.

About an hour later I got a phone call from the actual nurse who gave me the wrong results and I got to listen to another 5 minutes of intense apologizing. I am not mad at her, its not like she purposely tried to ruin my day. The girl even took my phone number home (since she couldn't get a hold of me during the business day) and was determined to tell me she made a mistake no matter how many times she had to call. I let her off the hook and told her I wasn't mad and was grateful she made the effort to correct the mistake.

So yes I am officially pregnant. I got to call the hospital tomorrow to schedule my orientation, and from there I will find out what my doctor appointment schedules will be.

And on that note I am off to bed. Its been an exhausting day!

Still waiting

Nothing really new to report. I am still testing each morning and each morning the tests are very positive. At least I am cutting down to one test a day instead of three (one of the three brands I have). I go in Tuesday to get my blood drawn. I wanted so bad to crack and go in today but I am going to suck it up and do what the nurse said to do. The next 4 days are going to be really busy anyway so hopefully time goes by fast.

The only symptom I am feeling is a pulling sensation in my abdomen. It is so weird and I always find myself rubbing my stomach where its pulling. Everyone tells me its very common and normal because tendons and muscles are starting to stretch out due to the increasing hormone level in my body. So I guess I should be happy I have this pulling feeling. Other then that I am extremely tired. I had no issues falling asleep last night, woke up once having a pretty bad panic attack (was able to calm myself down after about a minute) went back to sleep and slept for another 8 hours. I still want to sleep but I don't want to sleep right up till when I have to leave for work.

Will update again when I get my blood work back. I hope it reads positive.
